A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Scott Ritter has over two decades of architectural experience. Scott began his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, in the field of Architectural Engineering. He completed his degree at Louisiana State University, with a Bachelors of Architecture. Post-graduation, Scott worked in New Orleans as an associate architect with the firm Sizeler, Thompson & Brown Architects. While there, Scott refined his design principles, working on projects that ranged from Healthcare and Hospital design to Civic and Educational projects. In 2002, Scott launched his own architecture and design firm—Ritter Maher Architects—with partner and friend Stephen Maher. Scott utilizes a hands-on approach during all phases of Work Process Design and takes personal responsibility for each project. His knowledge of local conditions and personal connections in all aspects of design, permitting, and construction in Baton Rouge are an invaluable asset to each project.

Scott plays an active part in the Baton Rouge community, and is a strong advocate of civic and social improvement. He lives in Mid-City with his wife Melissa and their four children Molly, Jack, Emmaline, and Lucy Pierce. In the past, Scott has served on the Boards of several local non-profits including Boys and Girls Club of Baton Rouge, Greater Baton Rouge Arts Council, and Louisiana Arts and Science Museum. He was the President of the Catholic High School Alumni Board of Directors. In addition, Scott is a graduate of the CABL 2010 and 2014 Leadership Louisiana Class as well as the 2014 Leadership Baton Rouge Class. Scott was named in the Business Report’s annual “40 under 40” list in 2011.
